La Torre's Brunello di Montalcino reveals the finesse, elegance, and balance that is too often lost in this renowned appellation. With Sangiovese's delicate notes of cherry tied to grilled herbs, supported by refreshingly high acidity and balanced tannins, this wine will please at the table today or after years in the cellar.

 

The Anania family originally comes from Calabria in the south of Italy where they farmed for many years producing fine “bufala mozzarella” among other agricultural products. Giuseppe Anania, the father of Luigi Anania, the present owner and producer of the wines of La Torre, purchased the La Torre property in 1976. The estate is located in the commune of La Sesta, approximately 8 kilometers south of Montalcino in the highest altitude section of the Brunello appellation, quite near to the lovely village of San Angelo in Colle. The first vintage at La Torre was the fabled 1982 which set a fine precedent for the future work.

 

The estate comprises 36 hectares of which 5.6 hectares are devoted to the vine. The vineyards are planted almost entirely to the Sangiovese Grosso grape and have a full southern and southwestern exposure. Small parcels of Ciliegiolo and Alicante complete the mix of grape varieties. Wines from three appellations are produced: Brunello di Montalcino, Rosso di Montalcino, and Rosso di Toscano and Rosso di Toscano “Ampelio”.

GREATER FAIRFIELD COUNTY & WESTCHESTER, NY:

Delivery outside of Greenwich will incur a flat fee of $10. Once we receive your order we will reach out to coordinate the day and time. Orders are typically delivered within 24 hours of purchase and usually sooner than that. If you need the wines earlier, or if you have any other special requests - please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’d love to help you with whatever your needs are, no matter how specialized or unique! OUTSIDE OF CT: 

For delivery outside of Connecticut we ship via common carrier. We currently ship to over 38 states. As statutory laws are constantly changing, please note that this list is updated frequently, and acceptance of an order does not guarantee that we will ultimately be able to ship wine to you. At checkout, you will be quoted a shipping rate only if we are able to ship to your desired state. Unfortunately, we are not able to ship spirits anywhere outside of Connecticut.

As statutory laws are constantly changing, please note that this list is updated frequently, and acceptance of an order does not guarantee that we will ultimately be able to ship wine to you. Terms & Conditions

You must be 21 years or older to purchase and receive products from Horseneck Wine & Spirits. If you request shipping you authorize Horseneck Wine & Spirits to engage a common carrier to deliver your order. All shipments require an adult signature at the time of delivery. Therefore, either you or an authorized adult must be present at the time of delivery with proof of identification. 
If you wish to ship to a location outside of Connecticut, you assume all responsibility for shipment. We will notify you before processing your order if we are unable to ship wine to the state you request. For the protection of your wines, we will not ship during warmer months without your express instruction. All orders are packed immediately upon purchase but we may wait for optimal conditions to send. Since we cannot control the temperature of any common carrier, we do our best to send shipments out at the beginning of each week. We will always confirm any delays in shipment, and the choice is ultimately up to you.
Some of our wine is sold "Pre-Arrival." All "Pre-Arrival" items will be indicated as such on our website and include the estimated date of arrival. We will contact you once the wine has arrived and confirm any shipment or delivery requests prior to sending. 
"Qualifying Wines" means all still wines under $300.
