Created in 1993, Cheverny is one of the most recent appellations in the Loire Valley. The area, south of the Loire and abutting the marshy region of Sologne (the best hunting grounds in France), has produced wines since the 6th century. The soils consist of various combinations of clay, limestone and silica. Many varietals are planted: Pinot Noir, Gamay, Cabernet and Côt for red wines, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Chenin and Menu Pineau for the whites. Cazin tends vines of considerable age and the resulting yields are well below average in any given year.

Vinous 95 points - “The 2010 Branaire-Ducru has a lovely melange of red and black fruit, hints of dried blood and autumn leaves suggesting that this is moving into its secondary phase. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, a fine bead of acidity, good body and a fresh marine-tinged finish that is an absolute joy. There is an abiding symmetry about this wine and it is in for the long-haul. Tasted blind at Farr Vintners 10-Year On Bordeaux horizontal..April/2020”

A dark purple color already shows the depth of this vintage. Refined and floral aromas on the nose with red fruits combined with a delicate and precise oak.
Dense, silky and fleshy on the palate with a great elegance of fine tannins. A deep length finishing with black fruits.
This racy Talbot is very promising!

The grand-father, Raymond, started elaborating sparkling wine in his garage in 1942. He has then decided to add a full range of wines from Provence. Since that time, two generation have been managing the company with the same passion and philosophy for quality. Today, they are famous in France and all over the world for the quality of the wines of Provence and for their premium hand crafted sparkling wines.

Bisol Jeio Cuvee Rose NVRegular price $17.00 Save $-17.00
Varietals: Merlot, Pinot Noir
Produced from Merlot and Pinot Noir grapes. The vineyards are all located at the top of steep hills, exposed to the south, assuring excellent balance, sapidity and personality. A brief period of maceration gives the wine its slightly pink colour and determines the action of the aromatic varietal substances that bring out the grapes’ floral, fruity and surprisingly typical characteristics. The long and gradual fermentation cycle together with a sustained period in the presence of yeasts, both in the wine and during re-fermentation, confers delicacy and elegance on this cuvee and makes it persistent on the palate.

As winemakers, André and Fanny Heucq define a style of Champagne that is fine, elegant, streamlined, and just as reflective of the terroir as it is of André’s own reserved personality.

Tradition reigns at Haut-Ségottes. Harvest is manual. Fermentation takes place in cuve. Wines are rotated into barrel for an “elevage” of approximately 18 months. Approximately 20% of the barrels are new. Wines are bottled unfiltered. Although the majority of the vineyards are planted to Merlot (see above), the ultimate cuvée bottled as Chateau Haut Segottes Saint Emilion Grand Cru features a majority of Cabernet Franc. This dominance of Cabernet Franc (frequently on the order of 65%) produces a wine of considerable structure and is exceptionally age-worthy.

Denis Valdenaire harvests his white grapes after the reds. He gently presses the grapes for two hours to ensure that the juice is as clear as possible. Fermentation occurs in tanks for 90% of the harvest, while 10% is vinified in new barrels. The young wine develops in tank on its lees and is assembled with the barrel-aged portion in June, after the malolactic fermentation finishes. The Givry Blanc is then lightly filtered by diatomaceous earth and fined with bentonite clay before bottling in August. 320 cases are made.
