Ten Wines. Five vintages. Two grapes. One producer.
In accordance with our ethos here at Horseneck we're focusing on one of the smallest production wines in all of Hermitage: Louis Barruol's 'La Pierrelle' Hermitage blanc & rouge. Aaaaand in accordance with our compulsive need to be just enormous wine nerds we did some serious digging and managed to source five consecutive vintages of both wines. How cool is that? 2017-2021 of both the red and white from the same winemaker and the same tiny parcel of land. I already touched on Hermitage rouge being made from Syrah (in this case the Serine clone, further enhancing our nerd cred), but I think it's important to make it clear that Barruol's white wine, here made from 100% Marsanne vines that are 80+ years old, gives Grand Cru white Burgundy a run for its money from a class and complexity standpoint. These wines can last forever, and have all the density, minerality, and power of, say, Corton-Charlemagne, but are also just wondrously different and also like 1/10th the price of great Corton-Charlie. Our aperitif for the evening will be the OTHER great white wine of the northern Rhone Valley, Condrieu. So at this point this is like my dream evening by the way, and I can just imagine Greg reading this and nodding his head when he reads this. "Michael, you are unwell and have an unnatural obsession" is his likely response. Whatever! For all 3 of you out there who are also Condrieu enthusiasts let me just tell you that I scored some of Andre Perret's astounding 'Chery' Condrieu from the 20020 vintage. This is how all evenings should begin!

Delivery outside of Greenwich will incur a flat fee of $10. Once we receive your order we will reach out to coordinate the day and time. Orders are typically delivered within 24 hours of purchase and usually sooner than that. If you need the wines earlier, or if you have any other special requests - please don’t hesitate to reach out. For delivery outside of Connecticut we ship via common carrier. We currently ship to over 38 states. As statutory laws are constantly changing, please note that this list is updated frequently, and acceptance of an order does not guarantee that we will ultimately be able to ship wine to you. At checkout, you will be quoted a shipping rate only if we are able to ship to your desired state. Unfortunately, we are not able to ship spirits anywhere outside of Connecticut.

You must be 21 years or older to purchase and receive products from Horseneck Wine & Spirits. If you request shipping you authorize Horseneck Wine & Spirits to engage a common carrier to deliver your order. All shipments require an adult signature at the time of delivery. Therefore, either you or an authorized adult must be present at the time of delivery with proof of identification. If you wish to ship to a location outside of Connecticut, you assume all responsibility for shipment. We will notify you before processing your order if we are unable to ship wine to the state you request. For the protection of your wines, we will not ship during warmer months without your express instruction. All orders are packed immediately upon purchase but we may wait for optimal conditions to send. Since we cannot control the temperature of any common carrier, we do our best to send shipments out at the beginning of each week. We will always confirm any delays in shipment, and the choice is ultimately up to you. Some of our wine is sold "Pre-Arrival." All "Pre-Arrival" items will be indicated as such on our website and include the estimated date of arrival. We will contact you once the wine has arrived and confirm any shipment or delivery requests prior to sending.
